Nora has lived in Darwin since 1978 and teaches curriculum, instrumental and choral music in schools and the community. She is Principal of the Northern Territory Music School and is Musical Directr of "The Beat" and NT co-ordinator of the Musica Viva in Schools program.
Nora was appointed the Musical Director of the Darwin Chorale in 2001 and has led the choir through their many musical genres including the African Sanctus,Romancero Gitano with the internationally acclaimed guitarist Craig Ogden, the Missa Criola, Amahl and the Night Visitors by Carlo menotti, Handel's Messiah and Verdi's Requiem.
In 2001 Nora was Musical Director of Les Miserables for Superstar Productions.
One of Nora's commissioned works, the Savannah Suite, was performed by the Chorale in 2005 at the Darwin International Guitar Festival. In 2008 Nora directed a musical collaboration between the Darwin Chorale and two Timorese choirs in the highly successful "Cantar Timor" performances in Dili and Darwin for the Darwin Festival, which included the composition Ola Timor.
