Auditions are
being called for Soprano, Alto, Tenor, and Bass soloists to perform
"The Messiah" on Sat, 3 Dec 2005 with the Chorale. For further
information or appointment please call 0413 430 007. Auditions
will be held at the Performance Room, Music Dept, Charles Darwin
University 2pm onwards on 8th and 9th October.

The Cabaret
concert planned to be held at Kantillas on 24 September has been
cancelled for a variety of reasons. Wednesday night rehearsals
from now until 3 December will be focusing on the Messiah and
some Christmas Carols to prepare for the various Carol performance
that we attend.

The Chorale's
next performance will be at the Sixth Shell Darwin International
Guitar Festival on
July 10.

The Black Tie
Dinner function has been postponed until Sept/Oct 2005.

The
diary note has been updated to reflect
additional rehearsal times.
The Gallery Choir from Knox Grammar School in Sydney will be holding
a concert on Sunday 24th April from 3:30pm at the Christchurch
cathedral. The Darwin Chorale has been invited to contribute to
this concert. There will be an additional rehearsal on Monday
18th April at 7:30pm for this concert. The Knox Grammar School
choir will also attend the chorale's rehearsal on Wednesday 20th
April.
The Gallery
Choir consists of boys between he ages of 9-16, and will be performing
at various Primary Schools throughout Darwin.

There
is no rehearsal on Wednesday 6th April as it is the opening night
for Guys and Dolls. We have commenced rehearsals for the Black
Tie Dinner function in June. New members welcome! Our next rehearsal
is Wednesday 13th April.

Superstar
Productions is presenting a production of the Broadway Musical
Guys and Dolls at
the Playhouse Theatre at the Darwin Entertainment Centre. The
show runs from Wednesday 6th April - Saturday 9th April and Wednesday
13th April - Saturday 16th April. Bookings can be made through
the Darwin Entertainment
Centre website or by phoning the box office on (08) 8980 3333.

A special
General meeting of the Darwin Chorale Inc. is called for Wednesday
30 March 2005 at 7pm in the Music School at Charles Darwin University
to consider changes to the Constitution brought about mainly as
a result of changes to the Northern
Territory Associations Act. Members are encouraged to review
the new
Constitution (pdf 597 KB) prior to the meeting.

Our QUIZ NIGHT is on Friday 25th February and will be held at
the Darwin Turf Club.
