The Savannah Suite is a work for SATB choir, 3 guitars and didgeridoo. The work reflects the colours and timelessness of the landscape of the Northern Territory of Australia.
The work was commissioned by the Darwin Chorale, and first performed by the Chorale at the Darwin International Guitar Festival in 2005.
Nora Lewis, musical director of the Chorale, composed the music, and wrote the lyrics for Outback Somewhere and Boogie for the Dry. Other lyrics are from the poem Namatjira by Ooderogeroo Noonucal and The Night Train by Henry Lawson. The Banyan Tree and Nature's Theatre are by Territory poet Des Fishlock.
The Savannah Suite is now beautifully presented with vocal and instrumental parts for your choir to perform and enjoy.
